If you believe even remotely in the concept of WAR, you believe Bill Dahlen is an obvious Hall of Famer. His 70.9 WAR ranks 47th all time among position players. Dahlen is essentially the early 20th century version of Alan Trammell. Both are high-WAR players who have been overlooked by Hall voters. Both had above average offensive skills and tremendous defensive skills while playing an extraordinary amount at the shortstop position. These types of players are incredibly rare, incredibly valuable, and Hall-worthy.
