If you believe even remotely in the concept of WAR, you believe Bill Dahlen is an obvious Hall of Famer. His 75.24 WAR ranks #77 all time (among all players) and #8 among shortstops. Dahlen is essentially the early 20th century version of Alan Trammell. Both are high-WAR players who have been overlooked by Hall voters. Both had above average offensive skills and tremendous defensive skills while performing an extraordinary workload at a high-value position. These types of players are incredibly rare, incredibly valuable, and absolutely Hall-worthy.
